– vu le projet de recommandation du médiateur européen Emily O’Reilly du 26 mars 2015, invitant la Commission à exécuter, sans délai, une évaluation d'impact sur les droits de l'homme dans le cadre de l'accord de libre-échange envisagé avec le Viêt Nam,

AJ. considérant que la commission des pétitions assume des responsabilités vis-à-vis du Médiateur européen, organe chargé d'examiner les plaintes des citoyens de l'Union concernant une éventuelle mauvaise administration de la part des institutions et des organes de l'Union et au sujet duquel la commission élabore également un rapport annuel fondé sur le rapport annuel du Médiateur lui-même; qu'en 2014, la commission a participé de manière active et directe à l'organisation de l'élection du Médiateur européen en vertu de l'article 204 du règlement du Parlement; que la réélection, en décembre 2014, de M Emily O'Reilly au poste de Médiateur européen pour un mandat de cinq ans s'est déroulée de manière efficace et transparente;
AJ. whereas the Committee on Petitions has responsibilities with regard to the Office of the European Ombudsman, which is responsible for investigating complaints from EU citizens about possible maladministration within the EU institutions and bodies, and about which the Committee also produces an Annual Report, based on the European Ombudsman’s own Annual Report; whereas in 2014 the Committee played an active and direct role in the organisation of the election of the European Ombudsman under Rule 204 of the Rules of Procedure; whereas Ms Emily O’Reilly was returned to the office of Ombudsman for a five-year term in an election in December 2014 that was conducted an efficient and transparent manner;
