On 23 January 2007, the Commission received a notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004 (1) by which the undertaking Tenedora Nemak, S.A. de C.V (‘Nemak’, Mexico) controlled by Alfa S.A.B. de C.V (Mexico) acquires within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the Council Regulation sole control over the European casting operation Norsk Hydro ASA (Norway) by purchase of shares of four companies: the Aluminium Alucast GmbH (Germany), the Hydro Aluminium Mandl Berger GmbH (Austria), the Hydro Aluminium Győr Alumíniumöntöde Kft., (Hungary) and the Hydro Aluminium Fundo AS (Sweden) (together referred to as ‘Hydro Castings’).
