Je voudrais maintenant répondre plus spécifiquement à deux questions qui ont été soulevées : La première étant l’accord intervenu au sein du FESCO sur la définition des investisseurs professionnels, et la seconde étant une réponse aux propos de Mme Kauppi concernant le lien existant entre cette question et le rapport Lamfalussy.
I shall now provide a more specific reply to two points raised: the first being criticism of the agreement reached within FESCO on the definition of professional investors, and the second a reply to what Mrs Kauppi said about the link between this issue and the Lamfalussy report.

Dans l'amendement 1, Mme Kauppi demande avec insistance au Conseil de progresser rapidement dans l'examen de la proposition de directive concernant les activités des institutions de retraite professionnelle, laquelle garantira la reconnaissance mutuelle des fonds de retraite professionnelle et contribuera de façon significative à toute action efficace en matière de coordination fiscale.
Amendment No 1, proposed by Mrs Kauppi, expressly demands that the Council should make speedy progress towards a proposal for a directive on the activities of institutions providing occupational pensions, which would ensure mutual recognition of occupational pension systems and make a significant contribution to efforts towards effective tax coordination.
