Le président du Conseil sera représenté lors de ces cérémonies par la présidente du Sénat espagnol, Mme Esperanza Aguirre, qui réitérera au président Xanana Gusmão le message de soutien continu de l'Union européenne au Timor oriental, soutien qui comprendra le programme d'assistance communautaire le plus élevé de toute l'Asie en termes d'aide par habitant.
The President-in-Office of the Council will be represented at the celebrations by the President of the Spanish Senate, Mrs Esperanza Aguirre, who will assure President Xanana Gusmão of the Union's continued support for East Timor. This support will entail the Community's highest level of aid per capita to anywhere in Asia.
