A cet égard, l'Union européenne rappelle sa position commune ainsi que ses déclarations précédentes sur le Myanmar/la Birmanie et demande au SLORC d'engager un dialogue véritable et substantiel avec Aung San Suu Kyi et d'autres représentants de groupes favorables à la démocratie, ainsi qu'avec les minorités nationales, afin de rétablir la démocratie, l'Etat de droit, le respect des droits de l'homme et des libertés fondamentales et de favoriser la réconciliation nationale.
In this respect, the European Union recalls its Common Position as well as its earlier statements on Myanmar/Burma and calls upon the SLORC to enter into a meaningful and substantive dialogue with both Aung San Suu Kyi and other representatives of pro-democracy groups, as well as with national minorities to restore democracy, the rule of law, respect for Human Rights and fundamental freedoms, and to bring about national reconciliation.
