Mr Bangemann said that the aeronautics industry was entering a period in which the conditions of competition were undergoing rapid, profound change. While the Commission obviously did not intend to put itself in the place of the aeronautics managers, there was no doubt that a joint approach such as the one suggested by the Commission would be extremely useful in the present circumstances.
