In March 1975, the House agreed to a provisional Standing Order permitting opposition Members, on allotted days, to select certain items in the Estimates to be considered in a Committee of the Whole (See the Second Report of the Standing Committee on Procedure and Organization, presented to the House on March 14, 1975 (Journals, pp. 372-6) and concurred in on March 24, 1975 (Journals, p. 399)) Although this procedure was followed on nine occasions over the next fifteen months, the provision lapsed at the end of the session and the experiment was not renewed.
