In the light of the recent agreement signed by Germany on compensation of DM 10 billion for forced labour in German industry, will the Council take steps to ensure that the victims of the fascist war are given their rightful compensation and that the loans extracted during the occupation are repaid, bearing in mind that, since the unification of Germany, not even the formal reason that Germany adduced for not settling these legitimate and valid claims now applies?

(6) La Commission considère dans ces conditions que l'Allemagne ne lui a pas adressé les informations nécessaires pour lui permettre d'apprécier la compatibilité avec l'article 92 du traité de l'aide d'État au groupe Volkswagen pour ses projets Mosel II et Chemnitz II. Sur le total de cette aide, des subventions à hauteur de 360,8 millions de marks allemands (191,2 millions d'écus), des remboursements de l'impôt sur les sociétés à hauteur de 11,4 millions (6,1 millions d'écus) et un amortissement spécial sur les investissements engagés en 1991 dont le montant reste à déterminer, ont déjà été accordés.
(6) Under these conditions the Commission concludes that Germany has not submitted the necessary information for the Commission to assess the compatibility of the State aid to the VW Group for its projects Mosel II and Chemnitz II with Article 92 of the EC Treaty.
