Néanmoins, je m'aventure à affirmer que parmi tous les hauts fonctionnaires actuels, le commissaire aux langues officielles est celui qui dispose, en raison de la loi qui encadre son action, de l'éventail d’outils le plus diversifié pour veiller au plein respect des objectifs de la loi dont il est responsable, la Loi sur les langues officielles.
I would nevertheless venture to say that, of all those officers, it is the Commissioner of Official Languages who, under the act governing his or her actions, has the broadest range of tools to enforce full compliance with the objects of the legislation for which he/she is responsible, the Official Languages Act.

Avant de conclure, je voudrais préciser que, bien que ce rapport ne soit pas l’endroit idéal pour traiter de la situation des langues minoritaires ou des autres langues non européennes, il a néanmoins pour objectif d’améliorer les compétences linguistiques des citoyens et la qualité des systèmes d’enseignement et d’apprentissage des langues officielles de l’Union, et il ne devrait en aucun cas nuire à la reconnaissance et à la protection des langues qui ne sont pas considérées comme officielles dans l’Union, mais qui le sont dans certains États membres.
Before I finish, I would like to make it clear that, although this report is not the right place to deal with the situation of the minority languages or of other non-European languages, but that it is intended to improve the language competency of the citizens, the quality of teaching and learning systems for the official European languages, it should not in any way prejudice the recognition and protection of those languages that are not official in the Union, but which are official in certain Member States.

Néanmoins, en cas de de manque de souplesse suffisante, elle aura recours aux procédures plus officielles de règlement des différends pour atteindre ces objectifs légitimes.
However, if insufficient flexibility is shown it will resort to more formal dispute settlement procedures to achieve these legitimate goals.
