Le 1er juin 2005, la Commission a adopté l’initiative «i2010[1] », une société de l’information pour la croissance et l’emploi » en tant que stratégie globale destinée à la modernisation et au déploiement de tous les instruments politiques de l’Union Européenne, ceci afin de stimuler le développement de l’économie numérique. L’initiative i2010 s’articule autour de trois piliers : un espace européen unique de l’information, l’innovation et l’investissement, et une société de l’information fondée sur l’intégration.
On 1 June 2005 the Commission adopted the initiative “i2010[1]: European Information Society 2010 for growth and employment” as a comprehensive strategy for modernising and deploying all EU policy instruments to encourage the development of the digital economy. i2010 consists of three pillars: a Single European Information Space, Innovation and Investment, and an Inclusive European Information Society.
