The United Kingdom is taking part in this [INSTRUMENT], in accordance with Article 5(1) of Protocol No 19 on the Schengen acquis integrated into the framework of the European Union, annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and Article 8(2) of Council Decision 2000/365/EC of 29 May 2000 concerning the request of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to take part in some of the provisions of the Schengen acquis*.

Le Tribunal du brevet communautaire étant créé en tant que chambre juridictionnelle au sens de l'article 225 A du traité CE et adjoint au Tribunal de première instance conformément à l'article 220, deuxième alinéa, dudit traité, le Tribunal de première instance devient compétent, en application de l'article 225, paragraphe 2, dudit traité, pour connaître des pourvois formés contre des décisions du Tribunal du brevet communautaire.
With the establishment of a Community Patent Court as a judicial panel in the sense of Article 225a of the EC Treaty which is attached to the Court of First Instance according to Article 220(2) of the EC Treaty, the latter will under Article 225(2) of the EC Treaty have jurisdiction to hear and determine appeals against decisions of the Community Patent Court.
