C’est le cas, à mon avis, de la méthode de l’amendement constitutionnel, telle que nous l’avons précédemment mise en œuvre, qui constitue une solution viable car il est possible d’inclure les aspects positifs du traité constitutionnel.
This is, as I see it, the method of constitutional amendment, as we have done before, a viable route, because it is possible to embrace the sound elements from the Constitutional Treaty.

Derek Lewis: Honourable senators, I should like to make a few remarks with respect to the amendment proposed by Senator Doody that the report of our standing committee on this matter be amended by way of providing a substitution in the resolution authorizing the proposed constitutional amendment of Term 17 of the Terms of Union of Newfoundland and Canada as contained in the Newfoundland Act.
