Ce projet de loi a été déposé après l’arrêt rendu par la Cour suprême du Canada en février 2007, suivant lequel la procédure de confirmation judiciaire des certificats de sécurité établie par la LIPR était incompatible avec la Charte canadienne des droits et libertés et était par conséquent inopérante.
The bill was introduced after the Supreme Court of Canada ruled in February 2007 that IRPA’s procedure for judicial approval of security certificates infringes the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and was therefore of no force or effect.
