Permettez-moi d’insister sur l’importance que nous accordons à cette visite, après les années difficiles que le Liban a traversées, secoué par une guerre civile qui a duré 15 ans suivie de l’occupation et, plus récemment, par la guerre de l'été 2006, provoquant la paralysie de ses institutions publiques.
Allow me to emphasise the importance which we attach to this visit, after the difficult years Lebanon has experienced, with a civil war that lasted 15 years, followed by occupation and more recently the war that raged during the summer of 2006 and the paralysis of its State institutions.
