L’article 30 n’interdit pas à un État ou à une organisation d’intégration économique régionale, au moment où ledit État ou ladite organisation signe, ratifie, accepte ou approuve le présent accord, ou adhère à celui-ci, de faire des déclarations, quels qu’en soient le libellé ou la dénomination, notamment en vue d’harmoniser ses lois et règlements avec le présent accord, à condition que ces déclarations ne visent pas à exclure ou à modifier l’effet juridique des dispositions du présent accord dans leur application à cet État ou à cette organisation d’intégration économique régionale.
Article 30 does not preclude a State or regional economic integration organisation, when signing, ratifying, accepting, approving or acceding to this Agreement, from making a declaration or statement, however phrased or named, with a view to, inter alia, the harmonisation of its laws and regulations with the provisions of this Agreement, provided that such declaration or statement does not purport to exclude or to modify the legal effect of the provisions of this Agreement in their application to that State or regional economic integration organisation.

Calls for the ratification of the above-mentioned Agreement to be accompanied by that of the interpretive notes for its correct implementation, as well as the FAO's Code of Conduct for Responsible Fishing; urges the Community to implement the action plans recently adopted by the FAO on sharks, seabirds, the organisation of fishing capacity and the elimination of illegal, undeclared and unregulated fishing; urges those Member States which have not yet ratified the UN Agreement on Straddling Fish Stocks and Highly Migratory Fish Stocks to do so forthwith;
