"compagnie d'autobus et/ou d'autocars": une compagnie de transport qui est habilitée dans l'État d'établissement à effectuer des transports par autocar et autobus conformément aux conditions d'accès au marché fixées par la législation nationale et une compagnie de transport titulaire d'une licence communautaire en cours de validité délivrée en vertu du règlement (CEE) n° 684/92 du Conseil du 16 mars 1992 établissant des règles communes pour les transports internationaux de voyageurs effectués par autocars et autobus pour l'exercice d'activités de transport international de voyageurs;
"bus and/or coach undertaking' means a transport undertaking that is authorised in the State of establishment to undertake carriage by coach and bus in accordance with the market-access conditions laid down by national legislation and a transport undertaking holding a valid Community licence issued in conformity with Council Regulation (EEC) No 684/92 of 16 March 1992 on common rules for the international carriage of passengers by coach and bus for the purpose of carrying out international services of carriage of passengers;

As regards the 12-day derogation concerning the period of rest of coach drivers for international passenger transport, an agreement is expected in this respect between employers and trade unions and, for this reason, the two amendments will be resubmitted, in a form to be subsequently agreed together with the social partners, in the report on access to the market of coach and bus transport services.

Il n’en va pas tout à fait de même en ce qui concerne le rapport sur le transport en autocar. That is not quite the case with the report on coach transport, however, where some members of the Committee on Transport and Tourism expressed a wish to include the famous 12-day rule on driving and rest times again, and the very well organised bus lobby has been providing us with an excessive amount of information for months on end, in order to achieve this.

1) An incorrect title had been erroneously indicated in the cover page of the abovementioned document having been officially transmitted on 23 May 2007, which read "Proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on common rules for the international carriage of passengers by coach and bus"; in that document, the correct title was that appearing at the beginning of the text of the recast proposal and reading "Proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on common rules for access to the market for coach and bus services".
