50 (1) For the purposes of this Act, the pension payable to a recipient under any of Parts I to III is the pension otherwise payable to the recipient thereunder, plus any amount by which that pension was, by Order in Council P.C. 77/8785 of the 26th day of September 1942 made under the War Measures Act, authorized to be augmented, which Order shall, for the purposes of this Act, be deemed to have been made under a provision of this section that, at the time when the Order was made, authorized the making thereof, and to have continued in effect thereafter, in respect of any service before the 31st day of March 1947 in respect of which such augmentation was authorized, notwithstanding the revocation of such Order on the 31st day of March 1947.

17 (1) Les dispositions du présent article ne s’appliquent qu’à un contributeur qui, de l’avis du ministre, relevait d’une catégorie de personnes qui, à la suite d’avis erronés reçus par une ou plusieurs personnes de cette catégorie d’une personne dont les fonctions ordinaires dans la fonction publique consistaient, entre autres choses, à donner des avis sur l’admissibilité du service en vertu de la Loi ou de la Loi sur la pension de retraite, suivant lesquels une telle personne ne pouvait, en vertu de ladite Loi, faire compter une durée de service accomplie par une telle personne avant l’époque où elle est devenue contributeur en vertu de la Loi, a omis d’exercer une option prévue par ladite Loi dans le délai y prescrit pour l’acquittement dudit service.
17 (1) The provisions of this section apply only to a contributor who in the opinion of the Minister was one of a class of persons who, pursuant to erroneous advice received by one or more persons of that class, from a person in the Public Service whose ordinary duties included the giving of advice as to the counting of service under the Act or the Superannuation Act, that a period of service of such a person before the time he became a contributor thereunder could not be counted by him under the said Act, failed to elect under the said Act within the time prescribed therein to pay for that service.
