Le jury européen a remis à la Commission, le 2 décembre 2015, son rapport relatif à la procédure de sélection des sites en vue de l’attribution du label du patrimoine européen 2015, et la Commission, tenant compte de ses recommandations, doit désigner les sites qui obtiennent le label en question.

The added value of the new European Heritage Label should be based on the contribution made by the selected sites to European history and culture, including the creation of the Union , on a clear educational dimension reaching out to citizens, especially young people, and on networking between the sites to share experiences and best practices.

Il est établi une action de l’Union européenne (ci-après dénommée «action») intitulée «label du patrimoine européen» (ci-après dénommé «label»).

Le 20 novembre 2008, le Conseil a adopté des conclusions (3) qui appelaient à transformer l’initiative intergouvernementale en une action de l’Union (ci-après dénommée «action»). Le Conseil invitait ainsi la Commission à lui soumettre une proposition en vue de la création, par l’Union, d’un label du patrimoine européen (ci-après dénommé «label») et à spécifier les modalités pratiques pour la réalisation de ce projet.
