Deplores the rejection of Kosovo’s application for UNESCO membership, due also to active obstruction by Serbia – contradicting its commitment to developing good‑neighbourly relations – but also due to a lack of unanimity among member states; welcomes the adoption of the law protecting the historical heritage of Prizren and calls for its full implementation, but points out, nonetheless, the threats posed to the city’s heritage by widespread illegal building; welcomes the fact that several Serb religious and cultural heritage sites regrettably destroyed in 2004 have been renovated, such as the Orthodox cathedral, and calls for continuing renovation of Serbian religious and cultural heritage; calls, in this connection, on the interested parties, including the Kosovo authorities, the Serbian Government, the Serbian community in Kosovo and the Serbian Orthodox Church, to find a system for the promotion, protection and conservation of Kosovo’s cultural and religious heritage, which should be treated as common European heritage; welcomes the fact that the Kosovo constitution enshrines Kosovo’s commitment to the preservation and protection of its cultural and religious heritage, and calls for further efforts to protect the rights of all religious minorities; underlines the fact that joining international and regional organisations and mechanisms should be a priority for Kosovo; recalls, in this context, the importance of complying with the agreement reached on regional cooperation; believes that the establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office of the Western Balkans (in the framework of the Berlin Process), which is being actively promoted by many, will bring positive results, in particular as regards relations between the young people of Serbia and Kosovo;

33. souligne que l'adhésion aux organisations et aux mécanismes internationaux et régionaux devrait être une priorité pour le Kosovo; demande aux organisations régionales et aux organismes internationaux, tels que le Conseil de l'Europe et les institutions culturelles et de défense du patrimoine, de revaloriser leurs relations avec le Kosovo et d'accorder à ce pays le statut de membre à part entière en leur sein, et demande aux organisations médiatiques européennes et internationales de faire de même, afin que les artistes kosovars puissent prendre part à toutes les manifestations culturelles internationales, notamment le Concours Eurovision de la chanson; rappelle à cet égard la nécessité de respecter l'accord conclu dans le domaine de la coopération régionale;
33. Underlines the fact that joining international and regional organisations and mechanisms should be a priority for Kosovo; calls for Kosovo’s relations and representation within regional organisations, international agencies and bodies such as the Council of Europe and cultural and heritage institutions to be upgraded to full membership and for its representation in European and international media organisations also to be upgraded with a view to enabling Kosovar artists to take part in all international cultural events, including the Eurovision Song Contest; recalls in this context the importance of complying with the agreement reached on regional cooperation;
