La réunion «Justice et affaires intérieures» qui aura lieu les 27 et 28 février entre de hauts fonctionnaires de l'UE et des États-Unis, ainsi que la réunion ministérielle «Justice et affaires intérieures» UE-États-Unis de mai 2018, offriront l'occasion d'accélérer encore les progrès.
The Justice and Home Affairs Senior Officials' Meeting on 27-28 February 2018 and the EU-U.S. Justice and Home Affairs Ministerial Meeting in May 2018 will provide occasions to further accelerate progress.

La Commission a à présent demandé à la Cour de justice d’infliger à la Grèce le paiement d’un montant forfaitaire d’environ 6 millions d’euros, ainsi qu’une astreinte journalière de 34 974 euros à compter du jour du prononcé de son arrêt jusqu’à la date à laquelle la Grèce aura pris toutes les mesures nécessaires pour exécuter la décision de la Commission de 2008.
The Commission has now requested the Court of Justice to impose on Greece a lump sum penalty of about €6 million. Decides to increase, within the overall package on migration, the appropriations for the main agencies working in this field: the European Asylum Support Office, Frontex, Europol, Eurojust, eu.LISA, Cepol and the Fundamental Rights Agency for a total of EUR 26 million, as these agencies are vital to address the current pressing problem of migratory flows in an effective manner; welcomes the additional appropriations and additional 120 establishment plan posts for agencies in Amending Budget No 7/2015 and expects this decision to also impact the 2016 budget as well as the budgets for the following years; highlights the quickly deteriorating crisis situation and huge increase in migratory flows; urges the Commission to provide updated and consolidated information about the agencies' needs before budgetary conciliation; calls on the Commission to propose a medium-term and long-term strategy for the justice and home affairs agencies' actions: objectives, missions, coordination, development of hot spots and financial resources;

The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg will acquire the authority to exercise judicial control over the acts of the EU’s institutions, bodies and agencies, including decisions made by the European Court of Justice, with regard to compliance with the convention, thereby creating an additional layer of judicial control over fundamental rights within the EU.

The Commission has recently submitted to the European Parliament and the Council an amended proposal on establishing an Agency for the operational management of large-scale IT systems in the area of freedom, security and justice.[81] The future IT Agency’s task will be to fulfil the operational management of SIS II, VIS and EURODAC, and any other future IT system in the area of freedom, security and justice, so as to keep these systems functioning on a permanent basis, thus ensuring the uninterrupted flow of information.
