Le Conseil lors de sa session du 25 janvier 1988 avait invité la Commission "dans la perspective d'un renforcement des liens de coopération avec les Etats de l'AELE, à examiner, dans les autres domaines mentionnés dans la Déclaration de Luxembourg, y compris l'agriculture et la pêche, les possibilités d'approfondir la coopération au-delà des travaux en cours en tenant compte entre autre du principe de la cohésion économique et sociale" et de lui faire rapport à ce sujet.
At its meeting on 25 January this year the Council asked the Commission "with a view to strengthening cooperation with the EFTA States, to consider, in the other areas mentioned in the Luxembourg Declaration, including agriculture and fisheries, the scope for intensifying cooperation over and above the current proceedings, taking account, among other things, of the principle of economic and social cohesion", and to report back on the matter.
