Welcomes GEEREF as an innovative financing instrument to help overcome the barriers to investment in energy efficiency and renewables; recalls, however, that an estimated two billion people have to rely on fuelwood and animal dung for their energy needs and that consequently the suggested minimum funding target of EUR 100 million - with a contribution of only EUR 15 million for each of the years 2007 and 2008 – is woefully inadequate as GEEREF's contribution when the goal is to “boost the share of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects and substantially contribute to sustainable development”; therefore urges the Commission to raise its contribution, while at the same time encouraging Member States as well as multilateral finance institutions to join forces in order to significantly increase the size of the Fund;

Celle dont je me suis le plus directement occupé concernait une aide de courte durée à trois instituts de recherche : FERIC, l'Institut canadien de génie forestier, PAPRICAN, l'Institut de recherches sur les pâtes et papiers, et Forintek, l'Institut de recherche sur les produits du bois solide.
The one I was most directly involved with was short-term assistance to the three research institutes: bridge funding for FERIC, the Forest Engineering Research Institute; PAPRICAN, the Pulp and Paper Research Institute; and Forintek, which is the solid wood products research institute.

Pour ce qui est des trois instituts de recherche forestière, il s'agit de l'Institut canadien de génie forestier, qui possède des laboratoires à Vancouver et à Montréal; de Paprican, qui a lui aussi des laboratoires à Vancouver et à Montréal; et de Forintek, qui mène essentiellement des recherches sur le bois massif et qui détient des laboratoires à Québec et à Vancouver.
Moving on to the three forest research institutes, they are the Forest Engineering Research Institute of Canada, FERIC, which has labs in Vancouver and Montreal; Paprican, which has labs in Montreal and Vancouver; and Forintek, which is basically solid wood research. It has labs in Quebec City and Vancouver.
