De grands progrès ont été accomplis au cours des trois dernières années: un nouveau cadre réglementaire pour les services audiovisuels a été mis en place; la réforme de la réglementation des communications électroniques a été lancée[2]; le règlement créant un marché unique pour l’utilisation de la téléphonie mobile à l’étranger est entré en vigueur; des initiatives visant à promouvoir les contenus en ligne en Europe ont été adoptées[3]; de nouvelles grandes initiatives de financement de la RD et de l’innovation sont en cours; des partenariats public-privé innovants (initiatives technologiques conjointes) ont été lancés; des initiatives phare sur les voitures intelligentes, les bibliothèques numériques européennes et les TIC au service du développement durable sont en voie de mise en œuvre comme celles sur l’insertion numérique, l’administration en ligne et la santé en ligne[4].
Much progress has been made in the past three years: a new regulatory framework for audiovisual media services is in place; the reform of the regulation of e-communications has been launched[2]; regulation to create a single market for mobile phone use across borders is in operation; initiatives to boost online content in Europe have been adopted[3]; major new RD and innovation funding initiatives are up and running; ground-breaking public private partnerships (Joint Technology Initiatives) have been launched; flagship initiatives on intelligent cars, European Digital Libraries and ICTs for sustainability are on track as are initiatives on eInclusion, eGovernment and eHealth[4].
