Afin de conjurer les risques inhérents à une extension de la dérogation aux règles d'origine, il faudrait s'assurer que les produits de la pêche INN ne puissent pas en bénéficier, que la lutte contre la pêche INN soit renforcée et que le régime VDS soit amélioré, en plaçant la durabilité de la pêche avant les bénéfices économiques.
In order to avert the risks inherent in the extension of the derogation on rules of origin, guarantees need to be obtained that IUU fisheries products would not be able to benefit from that derogation, that measures to combat IUU fishing would be stepped up and that the VDS arrangements would be improved, so that sustainable fishing took precedence over financial profits.
