Ce FAU, appelé « Fonds pour un développement urbain durable à Sofia », a été créé sous forme de société par actions par le « Fonds des collectivités et autorités publiques locales » (Fund for Local Authorities and Governments – FLAG). Il permettra d’investir environ 12,5 millions d’EUR au titre de l’initiative JESSICA, ce à quoi viendra s’ajouter un montant au moins égal financé par le FLAG.
The UDF (Fund for Sustainable Urban Development of Sofia) is being established as a joint stock company by the Fund for Local Authorities and Governments (FLAG) to invest approximately EUR 12.5 million of JESSICA funds, combined with additional co-financing of an at least equal amount provided by FLAG.

La création de ce premier FDU en Andalousie est conforme aux dispositions de l'accord qu'ont signé la Junta de Andalucía et la BEI pour le lancement de l’initiative JESSICA.
