Dans le cadre du travail global qu'elle accomplit pour améliorer la mobilité de longue durée des apprenants de l'enseignement et de la formation professionnels (EFP), la Commission a également proposé l'initiative ErasmusPro, en décembre 2016; cette initiative deviendra opérationnelle en 2018 et permettra à 50 000 autres jeunes de passer trois à douze mois dans un autre État membre.
As part of the Commission's overall effort to improve the long-term mobility of vocational education and training (VET) learners, in December 2016 the Commission also proposed ErasmusPro initiative which will become operational in 2018 and which will allow an additional 50,000 young people to spend between 3 and 12 months in another Member State.

As the CIS will be implemented as of 24 March 2003, the Commission can now envisage a feasibility study on the technical development of the CFID (third pillar), and is now also in a position to take legal measures under the first pillar to complement the initiative of the three above-mentioned Member States with a view to covering all illegal activities in the customs area.
