IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

L’objectif de ce document de consultation est de demander aux parties concernées si la protection des indications géographiques à l’échelle de l’UE doit être étendue aux produits non agricoles.
The purpose of the consultation document is to ask concerned groups whether there should be EU-wide geographical indication (GI) protection for non-agricultural products.

Dans un souci de cohérence et d’harmonisation par rapport aux conditions fixées pour le vin, cette obligation ne doit pas non plus s'appliquer à la bière et aux boissons spiritueuses, telles que définies à l’article 2, paragraphe 1, du règlement (CE) n°.. du [.] du Parlement européen et du Conseil concernant la définition, la désignation, la présentation, l’étiquetage et la protection des indications géographiques des boissons spiritueuses et abrogeant le règlement (CEE) n° 1576/89 du Conseil[16].
As regards beer and spirits as defined in Article 2(1) of Regulation (EC) No. [.] of [.] of the European Parliament and of the Council on the definition, description, presentation, labelling and the protection of geographical indications of spirit drinks and repealing Council Regulation (EEC) No 1576/89 [16], and in order to ensure a consistent approach and coherence with the conditions established for wine, the same kind of exemptions shall apply.

L'Union européenne doit défendre les indications géographiques de toutes ses forces et doit faire preuve d'une grande adresse diplomatique, en premier lieu dans le cadre des prochaines négociations sur la transposition des décisions de Hong Kong.
The EU must use all its clout and diplomatic skill to defend geographical indications, initially in the forthcoming negotiations on the implementation of the Hong Kong decisions.

5. En ce qui concerne les v.q.p.r.d. et les vins de table ayant droit à une indication géographique exportés vers un pays tiers, et qui ont fait l'objet d'un document accompagnant le transport conformément au présent règlement, ledit document valant attestation de l'appellation d'origine ou de désignation de provenance doit être présenté à l'appui de toute autre pièce justificative à la satisfaction de l'instance compétente lors de leur mise en libre pratique dans la Communauté lorsqu'il ne s'agit ni de produits remplissant les conditions du paragraphe 4 ni de produits en retour visés par le règlement (CEE) n° 2913/92 et ses dispositions d'application.
5. For quality wines psr and table wines entitled to a geographical indication exported to third countries under cover of an accompanying document in accordance with this Regulation, the said document, equivalent to a certificate of origin or provenance of the products, must be presented in support of any other documents, to the satisfaction of the competent authority, when such wines are placed in free circulation in the Community, where the wine in question does not meet the conditions in paragraph 2 or constitute goods returned within the meaning of Regulation (EEC) No 2913/92 and its implementing provisions.
