Le 10 mars, dans son rapport au Conseil de sécurité, le secrétaire général des Nations Unies, M. Kofi Annan, a indiqué espérer que l'efficacité avec laquelle les dispositions prévues dans la partie C de la résolution concernant l'aspect humanitaire seront appliquées rehaussera l'effet du programme en atténuant la gravité de la situation sur le plan humanitaire.
In his report to the Security Council on March 10, UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, noted that he was " hopeful that effective implementation of the provision of section C of the Resolution (the humanitarian section) will enhance the impact of the program in alleviating the humanitarian situation in Iraq" .
