In the framework of The Hague Conference on Private International Law, the Community and its Member States took part in negotiations which led to the adoption on 23 November 2007 of the Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support and other Forms of Family Maintenance (hereinafter referred to as the 2007 Hague Convention) and the Protocol on the Law Applicable to Maintenance Obligations (hereinafter referred to as the 2007 Hague Protocol).

Fait à La Haye, le 19 octobre 1996, en français et en anglais, les deux textes faisant également foi, en un seul exemplaire, qui sera déposé dans les archives du gouvernement du Royaume des Pays-Bas et dont une copie certifiée conforme sera remise, par la voie diplomatique, à chacun des États membres de la conférence de La Haye de droit international privé lors de la dix-huitième session.
Done at The Hague, on the nineteenth day of October 1996, in the English and French languages, both texts being equally authentic, in a single copy which shall be deposited in the archives of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and of which a certified copy shall be sent, through diplomatic channels, to each of the States Members of the Hague Conference on Private International Law at the date of its Eighteenth Session.

1. The Community shall accede to the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) by means of the declaration of acceptance of the Statute of the HCCH (Statute), as set out in Annex I to this Decision, as soon as the HCCH has taken the formal decision to admit the Community as a Member.
