Nous assistons à un phénomène étrange depuis la guerre: si l’histoire évoluait jadis au rythme des hostilités entre l’Est et l’Ouest, une sorte d’étrange coup du sort veut que nous nous retrouvions aujourd’hui face à une Communauté européenne où les problèmes opposent le Nord et le Sud, le premier étant toujours riche et prospère, le second touché par la pauvreté.
Since the war, we have witnessed a strange phenomenon: whilst, previously, history revolved around hostility between East and West, now, as if by a strange twist of fate, we are dealing with a European Community where the problems are between North and South, and always between a rich and prosperous North and a poor South.
