L'Union européenne se félicite que les dirigeants militaires illégaux d'Haïti, après avoir longtemps refusé obstinément de se conformer aux obligations qui leur incombent aux termes de l'accord de Governors Island, aient finalement été amenés à se déclarer prêts à céder le pouvoir d'ici le 15 octobre 1994 au plus tard et qu'un affrontement militaire et une effusion de sang aient ainsi pu être évités au dernier moment.
The European Union welcomes the fact that the illegal military rulers in Haiti, after stubbornly refusing for a long time to comply with their obligations under the Governors Island Agreement, have finally been induced to declare their readiness to step down by 15 October 1994 at the latest, and that thus military confrontation and bloodshed could be avoided at the last moment.
