Le Conseil se félicite des progrès considérables accomplis pour réaliser les objectifs fixés dans l'accord d'Arusha, y compris les accords de paix conclus entre le gouvernement burundais et le mouvement CNDD-FDD en novembre 2003, ainsi que de la volonté d'appeler à un cessez-le-feu et d'envisager la possibilité de négocier avec le gouvernement, que semble avoir manifestée récemment le FNL, à la suite de la rencontre entre le président burundais et le FNL organisée à Oisterwijk par les Pays-Bas, et de son congrès organisé avec l'aide du gouvernement néerlandais.
The Council welcomes the substantial progress which has been made towards achieving the objectives set out in the Arusha Agreement, including the conclusion of the peace agreements between the Burundian government and the CNDD-FDD in November 2003 as well as the recent indications of willingness by the FNL, as the result of the meeting between the President of Burundi and the FNL in Oisterwijk, the Netherlands and its Congress organised with the facilitation of the Dutch Government, to call for a ceasefire and to consider the possibility of negotiating with the Government.
