Highlights the fact that the current economic governance framework needs to be implemented and where necessary improved to deliver fiscal stability, to favour a proper debate on the overall assessment of the euro area as a whole allowing growth-friendly fiscal responsibility, to improve economic convergence perspective of the euro area and to address on an equal footing Member States' different economic and fiscal situations; insists that it suffers from a lack of ownership at national level and limited attention to the international economic perspective and appropriate democratic accountability mechanism;

L’UE devrait relancer le travail mené actuellement par diverses instances internationales, y compris le G20, en vue de réformer la gouvernance mondiale.
The EU should give a new impulse to the ongoing work undertaken in various international fora, including the G20, with a view to reforming global governance.

6. note que dans certains cas, les BRICS ont coordonné leurs positions dans le domaine de la politique étrangère au sein du Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies, surtout au début des crises libyenne et syrienne, mais aussi en reportant le vote sur le rôle de l'UE à l'Assemblée générale des Nations unies et en adoptant des positions similaires sur la Côte d'Ivoire et le Soudan; indique à cet égard que si les BRICS peuvent sembler contester le système actuel de gouvernance internationale, le dialogue démocratique, l'engagement politique, y compris sur une base individuelle, et un partenariat authentique peuvent néanmoins permettre la mise en place de synergies positives et faciliter un nouveau système inclusif de gouvernance mondiale; estime que l'UE devrait tenir dûment compte du nouveau poids économique et politique des BRICS et autres puissances émergentes puisque cela pourrait contribuer à une réforme ordonnée de la gouvernance mondiale, fondée sur une plateforme convergente et sans effets déstabilisants;

Notes that in the past the BRICS have appeared to coordinate their stances in foreign policy terms in the UN Security Council in certain instances, most notably at the onset of the Libyan and Syrian crises and, additionally, by deferring the vote on the role of the EU in the UNGA and by adopting coinciding positions on Côte d'Ivoire and Sudan; points out in this regard that the BRICS may seem to be challenging the current system of international governance, but that democratic dialogue, political engagement, including on an individual basis, and true partnership may bring to the fore positive synergies and facilitate a new inclusive system of global governance; believes that the EU should duly take into account the new weight, in political and economic terms, of the BRICS and other emerging powers, as this may contribute to an orderly reform of global governance, based on a convergent platform without any destabilising effects;
