Dans l'exercice de ces missions, le Médiateur est assisté par un secrétariat chargé non seulement de l'examen des plaintes et des enquêtes mais aussi d'activités horizontales dans le domaine de l'administration et de la gestion qui permettent à l'institution de fonctionner, à savoir notamment la gestion budgétaire, financière et du personnel, la correspondance avec les citoyens, la gestion informatique, les relations avec d'autres institutions.
