79. admet qu'il ne peut y avoir d'approche unique de la RSE, mais reconnaît que la profusion des initiatives en matière de RSE, bien que témoignant d'une prise de conscience de l'importance des politiques en la matière, peut générer des coûts supplémentaires et constituer un obstacle à la mise en œuvre, sapant ainsi la confiance et l'équité; estime que la mise en œuvre des principes directeurs en matière de RSE doit en revanche laisser une marge de manœuvre suffisante eu égard aux besoins spécifiques de tous les États membres et des régions ainsi que par rapport aux capacités des petites et moyennes entreprises; se félicite néanmoins de ce que la Commission s'engage, en collaboration avec le Parlement et le Conseil ainsi que d'autres organismes internationaux, à parvenir à long terme à une convergence fondamentale des initiatives en matière de RSE, à encourager l'échange des bonnes pratiques des entreprises en matière de RSE, ainsi qu'à promouvoir les lignes directrices de la norme internationale ISO 26000 afin de parvenir à une définition unique, cohérente et transparente de la RSE au niveau mondial; invite la Commission à contribuer efficacement à orienter et à coordonner les politiques des États membres de l'Union de manière à minimiser les risques de coûts supplémentaires pour les entreprises qui sont actives dans plusieurs États membres, du fait d'approches divergentes;

Agrees that there cannot be a ‘one size fits all’ approach to CSR but recognises that the profusion of various CSR initiatives, although demonstrating awareness of the importance of CSR policies, can generate additional costs, be a barrier to implementation and undermine trust and fairness; believes that there must be sufficient flexibility when implementing CSR guidelines to cater for the specific requirements of each Member State and region, with particular regard to the capacities of SMEs; welcomes, however, the Commission's active cooperation with the participation of Parliament and the Council together with other international bodies to achieve a fundamental convergence of CSR initiatives in the long term and the exchange and promotion of good corporate practice regarding CSR, as well as to push forward the guidelines found in the International Standard ISO 26000 so as to ensure a single global, coherent and transparent definition of CSR; urges the Commission to contribute effectively to the guidance and coordination of EU Member State policies, thereby minimising the risk of additional costs being incurred by businesses operating in more than one Member State as a result of divergent provisions;

Je félicite néanmoins le député libéral qui présidait le comité car il a fort bien géré la situation, judicieusement dirigé le comité et s'est assuré que nous collaborions tous de façon non partisane.

Regrets that the proposal concerning the election of the HRC members by a strengthened, two-thirds majority has not been retained; welcomes, nevertheless the procedure whereby HRC members are elected directly and individually by secret ballot by a majority of the General Assembly and welcomes the setting-up of a mechanism for suspension, by a two-thirds majority vote of the General Assembly, of the membership rights in the Council of a member that commits gross and systematic violations of human rights;
