La future interconnexion dite «Interconnecteur EuroAsia», qui se trouve actuellement au stade de l'étude de préfaisabilité, figurait sur la première liste de PIC de l'Union.
The future interconnection called the Euroasia Interconnector, currently in the pre-feasibility phase, was included in the first Union PCI list.

Ce point revêt une importance particulière dans le plan européen de relance économique[9]: investissements dans l'efficacité énergétique pour créer des emplois et réduire la consommation d'énergie; technologies non polluantes pour relancer des secteurs tels que la construction et l’automobile sur les futurs marchés à faible intensité carbonique; infrastructures et interconnexions pour promouvoir l'efficacité et l'innovation.
This is emphasised in the context of the European Economic Recovery Plan[9]: by investing in energy efficiency to create jobs and save energy; clean technologies to boost sectors like construction and automobiles in the low-carbon markets of the future; and infrastructure and inter-connection to promote efficiency and innovation.

To support efficient use of funding mechanisms, the Commission: · will ensure the effective use of funding allocated to the Partnership Plan priorities, in particular the ICT part of the CIP in support of the validation and deployment of services, interoperability, evidence aggregation and capacity building; the AAL Joint Programme, the FP7 for ICT research in 2013 and Health Programme for 2012-2013; · will take account of relevant priorities of the Plan together with input from other stakeholders for future research and innovation work programmes and instruments (i.e. Horizon 2020); · has proposed to provide support for specific actions in line with its objectives, under the Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing in the scope of the Health for Growth Programme; · has proposed in the Connecting Europe Facility to finance support from 2014 for the roll-out of trans-European digital services infrastructures which enable cross-border telemedicine/-monitoring[26].

Such expenditure may, in particular, cover studies, meetings of experts, information and communication actions, including corporate communication of the political priorities of the Union, as far as they are related to the general objectives of the Union Mechanism, expenses linked to IT networks focusing on information processing and exchange, including their interconnection with existing or future systems designed to promote cross-sectoral data exchange and related equipment, together with all other technical and administrative assistance expenses incurred by the Commission for the management of the programme.
