F. whereas the protests on the Maidan started as pro-EU demonstrations but their focus later switched to more domestic issues – corruption, the economic crisis, distrust in politics and disillusionment with the political system of Ukraine; whereas on the other hand the Ukranian oligarchs, who opposed the policy of President Yanukovych, used these protests for their own interests; whereas Ukrainian oligarchs created, own and finance media holdings and NGOs, including Hromadske.tv, the Channel 5 television station and the NGO Centre UA, which was founded by Oleh Rybachuk and which strongly influenced the developments on the Maidan; whereas foreign actors, American tycoons – such as Soros and Omidyar – and foreign foundations, such as the National Endowment for Democracy, financed the protests; whereas foreign donations also came from state actors, including the Dutch embassy; whereas these facts show that the protests on the Maidan were not only an expression of citizens’ protest against state policies and the situation in the country;

19. se félicite des propositions qui soutiennent le potentiel d'innovation de l'économie sociale et insiste sur le fait que le marché intérieur devrait respecter la diversité des entités juridiques; considère que la diversité des modèles économiques, représentée notamment par les coopératives et les mutualités, constitue un bien commun ayant démontré sa résistance face à la crise et devant être préservé; attire l'attention sur la partie de l'économie verte et sociale mettant en jeu les coopératives, les sociétés mutuelles, les associations et les fondations, qui joue un rôle particulièrement important dans la création d'emplois et d'une croissance durables ainsi que dans la lutte contre la pauvreté et l'exclusion; demande que soient adoptées des mesures visant à établir des statuts européens distincts pour les fondations, les mutualités et les associations en vue prévenir l'insécurité juridique, de faciliter les opérations transfrontalières et de veiller à ce que ce type d'entreprises innovantes et à orientation sociale soient en mesure d'exploiter au maximum leur potentiel économique et social dans le marché unique;
19. Welcomes the proposals supporting the innovative potential of the social economy and insists that the internal market should respect the diversity of legal entities; regards the diversity of business models represented inter alia by cooperatives and mutual societies as a common good that has proven its resilience in the crisis and should be treasured; draws attention to the part of the social and green economy involving cooperatives, mutual societies, associations and foundations, which plays an especially valuable role in creating sustainable employment and growth and combating poverty and exclusion; calls for measures to set up distinct European statutes for foundations, mutual societies and associations to prevent legal uncertainty, facilitate cross-border operations and ensure that such socially oriented and innovative enterprises are able to make the most of their economic and social potential in the Single Market;

Je pense que la nouvelle structure que nous avons introduite pour la Fondation de Turin présente un avantage majeur face aux défis de l’avenir, et je pense que la Fondation peut aider les nouveaux membres potentiels à rejoindre l’Union européenne.
