Conformément au statut des fonctionnaires fixé par le règlement (CEE, Euratom, CECA) n o259/68 du Conseil (ci-après dénommé «statut des fonctionnaires»), visé à l'article 87, paragraphe 6, du présent règlement, le président, le vice-président et les membres visés à l'article 43, paragraphe 1, point b), du présent règlement, restent tenus, après la cessation de leurs fonctions, de respecter les devoirs d'honnêteté et de délicatesse quant à l'acceptation de certaines fonctions ou de certains avantages.
4. In accordance with the Staff Regulations of Officials as laid down by Council Regulation (EEC, Euratom, ECSC) No 259/68 (the ‘Staff Regulations’) referred to in Article 87(6) of this Regulation, the Chair, the Vice-Chair and the members referred to in Article 43(1)(b) of this Regulation shall, after leaving service, continue to be bound by the duty to behave with integrity and discretion as regards the acceptance of certain appointments or benefits.

Can the Commission guarantee that, in future, the response to criticism by officials of financial management and financial control will not be to transfer those concerned to another post or to dismiss them, but to hold a public debate for the purpose of assessing the actual facts and to actively invite critical officials, former officials and external experts to give their comments?
