Je souhaite aussi remercier une fois encore mes collègues de la commission des budgets pour leur volonté de trouver un compromis, ce qui, pour le budget du Parlement et les autres institutions, nous a permis d’adopter une ligne très responsable, bon compromis entre les nouveaux besoins financiers obtenus grâce au traité de Lisbonne en même temps que de nouvelles compétences et une retenue ciblée.
– (DE) Madam President, Mr Wathelet, Commissioner, ladies and gentlemen, I would like to thank all of those in this House who have contributed to the debate, and I would also like to thank my colleagues in the Committee on Budgets once again for their willingness to compromise, which, for Parliament’s budget and for the other institutions, enabled us to agree on a very responsible line between the new financing needs that we gained through the Treaty of Lisbon along with new competences and a targeted self-restraint.

Compte tenu des résultats obtenus grâce au FEM depuis 2007 et de la valeur ajoutée de celui-ci pour les travailleurs bénéficiaires et les régions touchées, la Commission a proposé de maintenir le Fonds dans le cadre financier pluriannuel 2014-2020, tout en améliorant son fonctionnement.
Building on the experience acquired with the EGF since 2007 and its value added for the assisted workers and affected regions, the Commission has proposed to maintain the Fund also during the 2014-2020 multiannual financial framework, while further improving its functioning.

Such effectiveness rests on three pillars: the specific contribution of projects financed to EU policies; the quality and soundness of each project; and the particular financial benefits obtained by the use of EIB funds.
