It was agreed, - That the Members of the Sub-committee agree that the main purpose of the Sub-Committee travel to Washington, D.C., is to gather information and meet with representatives of Congress, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the General Accounting Office and the Inter-American Bank to identify and discuss the work that has been done and that is currently being undertaken in the development of international financial reporting guidelines and standards for the public sector; and The Members of the Sub-Committee acknowledge that the travel to Washington will provide an invaluable opportunity for Members to seek out and discuss best practices in the area of financial reporting which could be of benefit to Canada and other countries, and to demonstrate some leadership in the promotion of international standards for the preparation of sound financial statements which are the core fundamental pillars required by governments to combat corruption and bribery.

Confirms its support for the ITER programme and is committed to securing its appropriate financing; is concerned, however, about possible further delays and additional costs of this programme as well as the related potential repercussions on the Union budget; regrets, therefore, that it was unable to assess the level of the 2016 ITER appropriations against the updated payment plan and schedule, which is only due to be presented in the ITER Council in November 2015; expects, however, that this revised plan will provide sufficient evidence that Parliament's recommendations, as set out in the relevant 2013 discharge resolution , have been properly taken into account and that financial soundness and spending efficiency will be ensured; intends to raise this matter in the 2016 budgetary conciliation; moreover, insists on the need for full transparency regarding the use of Fusion for Energy's contributions to the ITER programme; calls for a proper accountability mechanism giving a clear overview of the amount of financial resources provided to the international project and evaluating their efficient use;

Urges the Union to take into consideration both the principle of conditionality (‘more for more’) and the serious economic challenges Egypt is facing in its bilateral relations with and its financial support to the country; calls for clear and jointly agreed benchmarks in this regard; welcomes the recent decision of the Foreign Affairs Council to suspend export licences to Egypt for any equipment which might be used for internal repression, to reassess export licences for other military equipment, and to review security assistance to Egypt;
