S'il est vrai que les forces d'intervention de l'Union n'ont absolument pas pour but de défendre les intérêts de cette grande puissance que voudrait être l'UE, mais bien, comme l'affirme volontiers Mme Lindh, de "réparer la paix" dans le monde, de façon altruiste, pourquoi ne pas proposer que ces forces soient envoyées au Moyen-Orient, le long de la seule limite légale entre Israël et la Palestine, à savoir la frontière de 1967 ?
If, now, it really is the case that the EU’s new rapid reaction force does not exist at all to protect the EU’s interests as a superpower but, in fact – and as Mrs Lindh usually maintains – is there simply to be unselfish about making peace in the world, why not propose that it be deployed in the Middle East along the only lawful dividing line between Israel and Palestine, namely the 1967 frontier?
