En ce qui concerne l'adhésion à caractère restreint de l'Afrique du Sud à la Convention de Lomé, le Conseil a rappelé les contraintes spécifiques qu'impose le temps et il examinera la possibilité de tirer partie de la clause de l'article 364 de la Convention révisée de Lomé IV qui faciliterait l'adhésion rapide de l'Afrique du Sud à cette convention sans nouvelle ratification.
Regarding the qualified accession of South Africa to the Lomé Convention, the Council recalled the specific time constraints and will consider the possibility of taking advantage of the facilitating clause of article 364 of the revised Lomé IV Convention, which would allow an early accession of South Africa to this Convention without further ratification.
