Avant la réunion de la Commission, le 10 février, consacrée aux perspectives financières de l'Union européenne pour la période 2007-2013, le président Albert Bore exprimera à Romano Prodi sa ferme opposition à un plafond des dépenses fixé à 1% du PIB, tel que proposé par les gouvernements anglais, allemand, français, néerlandais, suédois et autrichiens dans une lettre ouverte envoyée au président de la Commission en décembre dernier.
In anticipation of the Commission meeting to be held on 10 February about European Union finances for the period 2007-2013, President Albert Bore will inform Romano Prodi that he is strongly opposed to fixing a ceiling on spending of 1% of GNP, as proposed by the British, German, French, Dutch, Swedish and Austrian governments in an open letter addressed to the President of the Commission last December.
