L'une des conséquences de l'accroissement des échanges et des déplacements à l'intérieur des l'Union européenne et dans le monde en général est l'éventualité accrue qu'un citoyen européen ou une entreprise établie dans un État membre soient impliqués dans un litige dont tous les éléments ne soient pas cantonnés à l'intérieur de l'État où il ou elle a sa résidence habituelle.
One of the consequences of expanding trade and travel in the world in general and the European Union in particular is the increased risk that European citizens or companies established in a Member State may be involved in a dispute of which all the elements are not confined to the State where they have their habitual residence.
