Nous devons faire des soins médicaux des Canadiens une responsabilité fédérale car, à mon avis, les provinces manquent à leurs obligations en ce domaine et elles soutiennent constamment que le gouvernement fédéral n'accorde pas assez d'argent aux provinces. Toutefois, si nous récupérions les points d'impôt que nous leur avons donnés, j'estime que nous ferions plus que reprendre le contrôle sur les dépenses en matière de santé et nous combinerions cette mesure avec une meilleure transparence dans l'administration des hôpitaux.
We have to make the medical health of Canadians a federal responsibility centrally because I believe the provinces are failing in their obligation in that regard, and they are forever saying that the federal government is not giving enough to the provinces but in fact if we took back the tax points that we have given the provinces I think we would more than bring the spending on health care under control, and we could combine that with better transparency with hospital administration.
