Directive 2002/21/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7 March 2002 on a common regulatory framework for electronic communications networks and services (Framework Directive) requires that providers of public electronic communications networks or publicly available electronic communications services take appropriate measures to safeguard the integrity and security thereof, and introduces an obligation for the national regulatory authorities, where appropriate, to inform, inter alia, the Agency about any security breach or integrity loss that has had a significant impact on the operation of networks or services and to submit to the Commission and to the Agency an annual summary report on the notifications received and the action taken.

That the Canada Revenue Agency provide the Standing Committee on Finance with information pertaining to estimating the Canadian Federal Tax Gap, including but not limited to: a) data or information regarding the difference between reported and assessed employment, dividend, and interest income for an anonymous random sample of T1 and T2 tax filers; b) any estimates held by the CRA regarding “collectability” of resulting reassessments and the rates of “non-detection” of incorrect returns through audit; c) any other information held by the CRA pertaining to the preparation of a Tax Gap estimate and; d) that this information is shared with parliamentarians and the Parliamentary Budget Office so that an attempt to estimate the Tax Gap can be made through other means as the CRA does not prepare Tax Gap estimates.

MISCELLANEOUS DECISIONS (Adopted without debate) Development and implementation of the European Environment Agency - Council Conclusions "THE COUNCIL HAVING NOTED that Council Regulation (EEC) No 1210/90 of 7 May 1990 [6] makes provision in its Article 20 for a decision on further tasks for the Agency, based on a Report from the Commission, no later than two years after the entry into force of the Regulation; that, in accordance with Article 21, the Regulation came into force on 30 October 1993, the day following the decision of the competent authorities to locate the seat of the Agency in Copenhagen; HAVING FURTHER NOTED that the Agency started to operate only in mid-1994 with its full staff not in post until the end of 1995 and that it would be desirable to allow the Agency at least two fully operational years before a decision is made on the assignment of further tasks to it; RECALLING that Articles 2 and 4 of the Regulation provide for the building of a network of organizations in its member countries which can contribute to the completion of the tasks of the Agency; FURTHER RECALLING that Article 19 of the Regulation opens the Agency to countries which are not members of the European Communities which conclude an agreement with the Community following the procedure in Article 228 of the Treaty, 1.
