Pour qu’une dénomination puisse prétendre au statut d’IGP, il faut qu’au moins une étape de production ait lieu dans la zone géographique concernée et que le lien avec cette dernière puisse être justifié par une qualité déterminée, la réputation ou toute autre caractéristique du produit associée à cette zone géographique.
For a name to qualify as PGI at least one step of production has to take place in the area, and the link to the area concerned can be justified by reason of a specific quality, reputation or other characteristic linked to the geographical area.
