As shadow rapporteur for the Group of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats) and European Democrats, I congratulate Mrs Gröner and everyone who contributed to the formulation of the common position on the adoption of the new programme and I believe that the broad financing will add value to the results of actions from ten years of successful application of the Daphne programmes and the initiatives of the Member States to highlight values and prevent outbreaks of violence, while at the same time offering support for victims.

Je voudrais remercier les rapporteurs fictifs des autres groupes politiques, et en particulier Mme Mastenbroek et M. Lax, et je voudrais remercier publiquement les députés de mon camp qui ont suivi de près cette question, qui m’ont toujours encouragé et qui se sont constamment montrés préoccupés par le rythme de la mise en œuvre du SIS II, en particulier Mme Bauer de Slovaquie, M. Brejc de Slovénie, Mme Gál de Hongrie, M. Demetriou de Chypre et, bien entendu, Mme Kudrycka de Pologne, qui va parler au nom du groupe du parti populaire européen (démocrates-chrétiens) et des démocrates européens.
I should like to thank the shadow rapporteurs from other political groups, in particular Mrs Mastenbroek and Mr Lax, and I should like to thank publicly those MEPs on my side of the Chamber who have kept a close eye on this issue, who have always encouraged me and who have constantly showed their great concern over the pace at which SIS II was being implemented, in particular Mrs Bauer from Slovakia, Mr Brejc from Slovenia, Mrs Gál from Hungary, Mr Demetriou from Cyprus and of course Mrs Kudrycka from Poland, who will speak on behalf of the Group of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats) and European Democrats in this debate.
