The results also showed a concern amongst Bulgarians that the situation had deteriorated, though with hope that this trend might reverse and with strong support for an EU role in addressing these issues, and for EU action to continue until Bulgaria had reached a standard comparable to other Member States.[3] These attitudes underline that continuation of the reforms is crucial for the quality of life of citizens, both because of the impact of corruption and organised crime on the Bulgarian economy and because of the importance of the rule of law for a functioning and free society.

Nous réclamons la transparence et la clarté pour les consommateurs. Nous condamnons la pêche illégale, non déclarée et non réglementée (IUU) et les pavillons de complaisance qui la protègent. Nous sommes favorables aux organisations régionales de pêche et au rôle de la Commission dans ces organisations et nous proposons la création d’autres organisations de ce type. Vu la nature fortement migratoire de ces espèces ainsi que la garantie que ces accords internationaux de pêche représentent une pêche responsable face aux accords privés, nous demandons également le maintien et l’extension du réseau d’accords internationaux de pêche thonière.
We therefore support the Dolphin-Safe labelling of the AIDCP, the intergovernmental body which includes the European Union amongst its members; we call for transparency and clarity for consumers; we condemn illegal fishing – IUU – the flags of convenience which shelter it and we support the regional fisheries organisations and the Commission's role in them, we propose the creation of other new ones and we also request the maintenance and extension of the network of international tuna fishing agreements, given the highly migratory nature of these species and the guarantee that these international fisheries agreements represent for responsible fishing in the face of private agreements.
