Kinsella (Acting Deputy Leader of the Opposition): Honourable senators, in light of the statement made by our colleague Senator Andreychuk regarding the fact that tomorrow is United Nations Day, and being mindful of the fact that one of the greatest achievements of the United Nations has been the proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which took place on December 10, 1948, and therefore the fiftieth anniversary will be in 1998, could this house be informed of the plans that the Government of Canada has to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, an instrument that has become known as the Magna Carta of the 20th century?
